Being an Atlanta native, Dr. Robert Shackelford has been practicing dentistry in north Georgia since 1984. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University in 1979 and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1984. In 2002 he moved his dental office from Alpharetta to his current location in Johns Creek, allowing him a more spacious environment and the ability to add new equipment such as the Cerec 3D System, Waterlase MD and others so as to offer his patients the most state of the art treatment options available today.
Dr. Shackelford continues to improve his craft by taking an average of 70 units of continuing education annually including Dawson Center For the Advancement of Dentistry, Georgia Dental Association along with other accredited institutions.

Dr. Shackelford is active in the community and is a member of the Johns Creek Business Association and The Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce. He is married and has two children. He enjoys playing golf in his leisure time. He and his family are members of the Perimeter Presbyterian Church.

American Dental Association recognizes only nine specialty areas.
